Several weeks ago The City of Ammon had a problem with their wells. It caused alot of pressure in the lines in certain areas. I first noticed it when I went to turn on my outside water with a hose, the hose started flipping out of control. Inside the house I had no water just air coming out of the faucets, it was so bad it shook my house. It filled my valves with sand and rust, it blew my shower head right off, I had to replace my outdoor faucet. I called the City of Ammon when it first happened and they assured me it was being taken care. I told them what had happened at my house and their response was "not our problem, call a plumber", I am a single mom, I can't afford a plumber. After a week of hardly any water coming out of my faucet, I did call a plumber, he said he would be there in the afternoon, but I would I have to have the City Of Ammon shut the water off at the street. I called City of Ammon and told them I was having a plumber come over because of all the problems I had, their response was "we have 24 hours to dispatch someone there. They are only two blocks away from my house, Our tax dollars are going to pay for new facilities, but when the local citizens have a problem. They could care less. It is all about them making money. We pay a monthly fee and what do we get in return?

Yeah the city has alot more problems than that. I should know, I was a former employee... I know alot of dirty little secrets. As a resident myself of Ammon, I tell u all to look carefully at what u agree to pass, and question everything.

I agree with what was said. The City of Ammon, should of paid for the plumber to go to the house and fix the problems that occured. If it was a big fancy house, they would of been right on the spot to help them, or a business.

I think the City of Ammon, should respond to complaints against them. Instead they just sit back and collect our money.

I have noticed that statement "it's not our problem" seems to come out of their lips more then not. We have got to get this resolved, some how.

As a citizen of Ammon, I won't put Ammon on my bills, letters, nothing. It's an embarrassment to admit to living in this city with the scum lords.

If you want a real shock, compare the building permit fees and etc. in Ammon in comparison to the City of Idaho Falls.

Ammon Officials will not tell the people the truth. It is all about power with Mr. Bean. His Lordship is the biggest problem Ammon has to face. WHEN will the people wake up? It is a city click- and there is no one with any brains to lead the city

If you haven't noticed- you pay Ammon for a lot of services you do not receive. Start by organising, campainging- VOTE each person out of office. IT IS THE ONLY CHANCE YOU HAVE TO SAVE THE DAY. ALL of you have a voice- use it. GET RID OF ARD-BEAN

They should have money to fix the problems they cause . My water & sewer bill went up $600. a month on my apartments in the last year I now pay $3900. and I do'nt even get to vote in Ammon , I own property there but live in another town.

The problem with the city of Ammon is started at the height of the building boom. Developers were allowed to build when there wasn't enough water resources to handle the amount of homes they were building..several subs don't have sufficient water.

Everyone rushed to that area because taxes are SO lo there vs IF. It cracked me up when new homeowners started screaming that their landscaping was dying for lack of water.Lower taxes=less money for services.Sorry for single mom who got stuck w/bill.

The newbies thought they could have lo taxes and their cake too.Utilities, taxes have to go up;it's a logical outcome.New wells, upgraded sewer system, etc.,all cost money.Ever hear of smart growth?Oh,that might be too progressive an developers hate it.

So, nobody cared when a former city council member created a job for himself as the public works director and then took over, so what makes you think anybody is going to care about water issues, road issues, or anything else that goes on in the City?

Why can't the city of ammon take pride in our city. They sit back and let the City of Idaho Falls pay the bill for all the road work. iIts Going to be sad when one side of the street is landscaped (IF) and the other is all weeds and garbage(AMMON).

All of the wells in Ammon are under construction. My guess is the lines were not properly flushed and tested before being brought online. I would say it is the contractor working on that particular well to be responsibility for the repairs.

If one side of the street is landscaped and the other is weeds and garbage what is stopping a few citizens from fixing that in an afternoon? Is it really governments job to take care of beautification projects too? Not to say the mom is wrong

The City of Ammon needs to take responsiblity for many issues, including something as simple as enforcing existing ordinance violations, that impact all of our property values and our quality of life, no matter what neighborhood we live in.

I think it is funny how Ammon wanted to get away from Idaho Falls and their sewage treatment system and now the Ammon sewer bill has more than doubled. What was wrong with the system you had? It it was a lot cheaper to stay with the working system

All these complaints and never hear a word from Ammon officials, the lady that first started this with her water complaints has my sympathy, we pay are taxes and pay for the water. City of Ammon needs to step up to the plate and pay her bills.
