I was commuting home from work around 5:15 pm (1/6/09) from Idaho Falls to Rexburg. Suddenly traffic stopped. When we started moving again I came across 5 cars/trucks that had slid off the road due to icy conditions. It was CRAZY!

Who's worse, the people sliding off the road, or the person driving while recording it.................... ?
Just because you have a cell phone doesn't mean you need to call and report everything you see. You become part of the problem. Hang up and drive!
hey , haven't you ever seen cars in the ditch before? What is so news worthy ? Pay attention to your driving, not whats is happening off tot he side of the road. And considering how bad the roads were, you should of had BOTH hands on the steering
some people drive better with one had on the wheel than most people drive with 2, they just have better reflexes and cordination. I drove through a winter storm in Illinois at highways while everyone was sliding off, we counted 17 cars.
I wonder how many of the drivers sliding off had BOTH hands on the wheel? Great video and music! And it is on the right channel, Very weather worthy
Hey, that was me in the second car you filmed slid off. It was slick... Had both my hands on the steering wheel and everything. Scary I was there for hours, all the people driving by with cell phones you think one would call.

It seems like every time the roads get slick people have already forgotten how to drive in it. You get there slower if you have to get pulled out of the ditch than if you would have slowed down to begin with. I know sometimes it happens anyway though
And if the roads are that bad. You probably should be paying more attention to driving than filming.
