Struhs brothers

By Ted Dawson

Jason Struhs is a 6'2" 220 pound senior wide receiver, and defensive end for Bonneville.

Mitchell Struhs is a 6'3" 220 pound sophomore tight end for Hillcrest.

This Friday night at Thunder Stadium, they'll be across the line from each other.

Jason and Mitch's father died suddenly three years ago.

While Mitch went to live with his mom, Jason went to live with his grandparents.

They're still brothers, but come Friday night, that brotherly love disappears.

The two brothers teams are headed in opposite directions.

While Mitch's Hillcrest team is unbeaten this year, Jason's Bonneville squad is one and one so far, that's why there's a different response when I asked each if they'll be rooting at all for his brother.

This is the first and last time the Struhs brothers will ever play against each other.

Jason graduates this year, and even though he's the older brother, it's the sophomore, who's talking trash.

This week Gov. Otter signed a bill requiring Idaho to sue the federal government if Congress passes health care reform. What's your response to this?

  • It's great to see Idaho taking the lead on this. Someone has to stand up to what's happening in Washington.
  • We can't afford to pay for education in Idaho, but we're going to spend tax dollars to sue the feds? Ridiculous.
  • Not sure.
