State Wrestling Champs
By KIDK Staff
AMERICAN FALLS - You don't normally see this many people supporting a wrestling team, but American Falls doesn't have your average, every day wrestling team. After winning the State 3A Championship this past weekend the Beavers have now won three state titles in the last four years.
Coach Guilio has been with the program for the last 13 years, and has built it into one of the state's best: 11 of the Beavers qualified for the state tournament, six placed either first or second. Leading the way, is Senior Paden Johnson, a 130 pounder who won his third straight title, including a seven second pin in the semi finals. Sophomore V.J. Guilio, the coach's son, won his second straight title at 160 pounds, and sophomore, Kyle West, is the state 103 pound champion. By the way, this team is just getting started. They'll be loaded again next year. |
