Student Athlete of the Week - Kylee Searle

By Ted Dawson

IDAHO FALLS - Kylee Searle was born to be a great athlete.

Her dad and mom raised all their kids that way, and Kylee is the best of them all.

She won a state championship in basketball as a sophomore at Shelley, a state championship in basketball after moving to Bonneville as a junior, and another state championship in volleyball last week, where she was clearly the outstanding athlete in the entire tournament, and by the way, her entire family showed up dressed as Bonneville Bees to support her.

Kylee, number five, has been doing this all year, and has led her team to an incredible record that makes them one of the best teams in the entire country.

She's not only good in volleyball, but she's a good enough student to earn a full ride scholarship to Idaho State.

Kylee Searle, the killing machine of the Bonneville Bees, is a clear choice as our KIDK Student Athlete of the Week.

And she's not through yet, she started basketball practice today, as the first step to another state title.

This week Gov. Otter signed a bill requiring Idaho to sue the federal government if Congress passes health care reform. What's your response to this?

  • It's great to see Idaho taking the lead on this. Someone has to stand up to what's happening in Washington.
  • We can't afford to pay for education in Idaho, but we're going to spend tax dollars to sue the feds? Ridiculous.
  • Not sure.
