IDAHO FALLS - Like a high powered bullet out of a gun, Sugar Salem Senior, Brooke Hansen flies out of the starting blocks, and heads for the finish line, another gold medal at the state track meet, one of three she won last weekend and 12 she's won in her high school career, along with seven team state championships in track, basketball and volleyball.

Brooke, who told us yesterday that she was accepting a full ride scholarship to run for BYU, has carried a 3.53 grade point average all the time she's been racking up the titles.

As a two time defending state champion, Madison Junior Chari Hawkins got to help carry in the flag at the Parade of Athletes this past weekend. She also picked up three more gold medals for a total of five in her career.

Chari, who maintains a 3.99 grade point average. She's had one A- in her entire career, also plays volleyball and basketball, not to mention a new sport she's starting.

Now meet freshman Dallin Farnsworth of Highland. He won his first state title in the two mile run, upsetting Junior Olympian and defending State Champion Eric Fitzpatrick of Boise.

Farnsworth, an Eagle Scout, carries that endurance into the classroom with a 3.7 grade point average.

A freshman, a junior, and a senior, all worthy recipients of our KIDK Student Athlete of the Week.
