RIGBY - Rigby Junior, Toren Downie, swings a baseball bat like a major leaguer. The tight compact stroke that scouts love, and if he keeps hitting the ball the way he has in the first week, scouts will be beating down his door. In four games, the six foot, 180 pound catcher, has come to the plate 13 times, he has 10 hits, including four doubles, two triples, and two more home runs. By the way, that's an astronomical 769 batting average.

There's no secret as far as Toren is concerned, it was just hard work.

Granted, the season is still very young, but what Toren Downie has done so far, is phenomenal.

Toren Downie, the Trojan hitting machine, is a clear choice as our KIDK Student Athlete of the Week.
