Pitching with the Idaho Falls Chukars

By Ted Dawson

IDAHO FALLS - Idaho Falls Chukars pitcher, Bryan Paukovits came to the mound for Tuesday night's opener and struck out the side in the first two innings. In fact, he struck out eight in five innings of work and gave up only one unearned run, as the Chukars crushed Casper 10-0.

Paukovits, a 6'7" 240 pounder out of San Diego is an incredible story. Just a year ago, he had Tommy John surgery. The huge scar on his arm is where a new tendon from his wrist was inserted, but Paukovits never stopped believing.

This week Gov. Otter signed a bill requiring Idaho to sue the federal government if Congress passes health care reform. What's your response to this?

  • It's great to see Idaho taking the lead on this. Someone has to stand up to what's happening in Washington.
  • We can't afford to pay for education in Idaho, but we're going to spend tax dollars to sue the feds? Ridiculous.
  • Not sure.
