Police chase ends in power pole crash

JEFFERSON COUNTY - A Bonneville patrol car, and a power pole and Qwest phone line in Jefferson County, are damaged after a police pursuit.

In a press release from the Jefferson Sheriff's Office, "A Pursuit starting in Bonneville County and ending in a Jefferson County took place at 15:53 this afternoon. Bonneville County requested assistance when a blue 1997 Ford pickup driven by Colin McKinley would not stop. Bonneville patrol deputies preformed the P.I.T. maneuver to stop the suspect. When the pursuit was over a Bonneville Patrol car had been rammed and a power pole broken at 282 N 3700 E Jefferson County."

The suspect was arrested at that site and taken to Bonneville Co Jail.

No information on why the pursuit began has been released.
