Shop with a Cop fundraisers across Rexburg
REXBURG - 36 participants showed up today to run in the 5k Turkey Trot Run.

"It was fun, got us up on a Saturday morning got the kids out, It was also an opportunity to bring some presents for the shop with a cop contribution. It was a lot of fun," said Charles Daughbity.

"there's steam going off your head right now, it's 13 degrees outside, what's your thoughts about that?" I asked.

"It was crazy, but it was fun haha," replied John Burnon.

"The Mayor's Youth is working a lot with the shop with a cop program...I think we collected a lot of barbie dolls, baby dolls, Play-dough, a lot of the things kids enjoy," said Kimberly Wilson, a Recreation Intern with the City of Rexburg.

On the other side of Rexburg, the Paul Mitchell Hair Academy held an interesting fundraiser of their own.

"We're helping with shop with a cop, which helps bring Christmas to families in need in Eastern Idaho. So we're hosting a princess and pirate day, to help raise money to help families purchase gifts to have a really good Christmas," said Kevin Kolditz, with the Paul Mitchell Hair Academy.

Turning little girls into their dream princesses put a smile on a few faces. There was also a baked cookie sale, and a canned food drive. It was definitely a lot warmer at this shop with a cop fundraiser, than that 13 degrees runners than in this morning.

The toys collected here at the Turkey Trot will join others at the Rexburg Police station.

Wind Farms

The wind turbines lining the foothills east of Idaho Falls are getting a lot of attention. What do you think about the wind farms?

  • They're too close to residential areas and they're lowering property values. They're ruining the view. Build them somewhere else!
  • They provide clean energy, and they generate local jobs and tax revenue. They're the wave of the future. Welcome to town!
  • Not sure.
