REXBURG - A new hawk light has been installed in Rexburg to keep pedestrians safer.

Two students have died at this exact location prompting the 85-thousand dollar cross walk.

And while regular cross walks get a 10-percent compliance, studies suggest the Hawk light gets a 97-percent compliance.

"Works good, its good not to get hit by a car," said BYU-I student Todd Rowley.

I asked, "Do you feel safer?"

"I feel a lot safer," replied Rowley.

Rexburg does not plan on installing another hawk light due to the cost.

This week Gov. Otter signed a bill requiring Idaho to sue the federal government if Congress passes health care reform. What's your response to this?

  • It's great to see Idaho taking the lead on this. Someone has to stand up to what's happening in Washington.
  • We can't afford to pay for education in Idaho, but we're going to spend tax dollars to sue the feds? Ridiculous.
  • Not sure.
