Vocabulary 'Not learned from TV'

REXBURG - The annual Idaho Family Read week is underway at the Madison County Library.

This year's theme is "Wild about Reading."

The library is helping kids learn vocabulary through hand motions and visual aides.

"Vocabulary is something that isn't acquired watching tv as much as it is acquired by listening and conversation with parents and through reading books," said Vivian Milius the Children Librarian.

The library also has a new display for kids to match animals with their footprints.

This week Gov. Otter signed a bill requiring Idaho to sue the federal government if Congress passes health care reform. What's your response to this?

  • It's great to see Idaho taking the lead on this. Someone has to stand up to what's happening in Washington.
  • We can't afford to pay for education in Idaho, but we're going to spend tax dollars to sue the feds? Ridiculous.
  • Not sure.
