POCATELLO - A jewelery store is helping the Idaho Foodbank, and early holiday shoppers with a new promotion.

If you bring a donation for the Foodbank into Jensen Jewelers on Hurley drive, you get 50% off your purchase.

The sale has drawn a lot of interest.

Several people have even brought in donations without buying anything. Jason Rollene, Store Manager said, "A lot of people are taking advantage of it. It's pretty neat to see. A lot of people are doing their Christmas shopping earlier, and that's what we're seeing right now is a lot of people coming in and getting Christmas savings way before Christmas."

The Foodbank supplies items to 200 partner agencies.

Last year, they supplied 6.8 million pounds of food.

This week Gov. Otter signed a bill requiring Idaho to sue the federal government if Congress passes health care reform. What's your response to this?

  • It's great to see Idaho taking the lead on this. Someone has to stand up to what's happening in Washington.
  • We can't afford to pay for education in Idaho, but we're going to spend tax dollars to sue the feds? Ridiculous.
  • Not sure.
