IDAHO FALLS - One, two,....68! That's 68 boxes filled with a Thanksgiving feast, being dropped off at Saint Luke's Episcopal Church. Each one goes to a family in need this Holiday season.

"This wonderful town of Idaho falls realizes that there is a need and there doesn't need to be any barriers between anybody, and we are all here as a community and we all need to work together, and help those less fortunate and that's why it's such a success," say's fundraiser coordinator, Kelli Marshall.

Kelli Marshall organizes this charity every year- for the last 7 years, and she can't get over the overwhelming support from the entire community. Turkey boxes lined the halls at Sunnyside Elementary. Students and staff donated enough food for almost 70 complete dinners.

"This Thanksgiving feast is about people who don't have food for their dinner," says first grader, Jaxon Cherry.

"To feed people that don't have anything," says third grader Colton Scott.

The kids brought so much food, that they had to use plastic bags because they ran out of boxes and there were so many extra items they are still waiting for more boxes to fill.

Principal Kay Moore, has been a part of this event for 13 years, and she's never seen so many boxes.

"What we hope at Sunnyside is that students learn that being of service to the community is also an important piece of education that well all have a responsibility to help those who are less fortunate," says, principal Kay Moore.

"We go through the elementary school counselors and they know the names of the families that are in need at each school and through district 91 and 93."

Each box is worth about 35-dollars and feeds at least six people.

If you want to donate to the Turkey boxes call St. Luke's Episcopal Church at (208) 522-8465. You can also bring donated turkeys to the Idaho Falls Food Bank and the Food Bank will bring over any items meant to go to the fundraiser.

This week Gov. Otter signed a bill requiring Idaho to sue the federal government if Congress passes health care reform. What's your response to this?

  • It's great to see Idaho taking the lead on this. Someone has to stand up to what's happening in Washington.
  • We can't afford to pay for education in Idaho, but we're going to spend tax dollars to sue the feds? Ridiculous.
  • Not sure.
