F-16 jettisons two bombs and leads to Hill AFB explosion

HILL AFB, UT - An explosion at Hill Air Force Base in Utah Thursday afternoon, after an F-16 is forced to jettison two bombs.

The pilot ran into trouble in the air and had to release two 500-pound bombs and two fuel tanks. One bomb hit an empty tin shack on the base, while a fuel tank landed at a munitions cache. No one was hurt and the pilot landed the jet safely.

No word on what happened to the second bomb.
