POCATELLO - An Aberdeen man is in jail facing felony charges for allegedly fighting with two people in Pocatello.

18-year-old Jerret Johnson is charged with two counts of aggravated battery.

Investigators were called to a home on S. Garfield Ave. in June.

A woman told officers that Johnson, her brother, had battered her.

Investigators believe Johnson also hit a man in his mid-twenties with a baseball bat, he was taken to the hospital.

No word on why it took four months for charges to be filed.

Idaho law allows state agencies to divert some state income tax refunds to pay legal obligations like court fees, child support, and sheriff's garnishments. Taxpayers whose refunds have been diverted have no legal recourse. What do you think of the law?

  • Times are tight. If the state needs the money, this approach is better than budget cuts, tax hikes, etc.
  • I'm entitled to the refund, and the state can just take it? Unfair and ridiculous.
  • Not sure.
