Arco hospital in financial trouble

ARCO - The Lost River Medical Center in Arco is in major financial trouble and might not survive past this December without some financial help.

The hospital is in over a million dollars in debt.

The CEO, Kim Dahlman, says this is mostly due to the economy.

Each month the hospital spends tens of thousands of dollars because patients can't pay their medical bills.

We also received word from employees that their checks are bouncing.

Dahlman denies these allegations and says the hospital did have a glitch and everyone of the their staff have been paid up-to-date.

The hospital is the second largest employer in Butte County and essential employees are beginning to look elsewhere for employment.

If the hospital closes, there will be no urgent care facilities within 80 miles.

We'll be following this story closely and let you know more as we find out.
