DRIGGS - "I wanted to do something that would honor the history of the valley, and the beauty of the valley," said Philbin deGot, the artist who painted the seven 16-foot tall murals.

7 murals, all 16 feet tall, depict just that. On the first floor you'll see bartering between settlers and the Native Americans.

"This represents the rendezvous of 1832, which was in Piers hole," said deGot.

Upstairs the valley's scenic landscapes.

"I wanted people to think they could walk up into those trees," said deGot.

A unique ingredient that deGot worked with because of the winding staircase.

"I've never had to work around a staircase before and an elevator shaft. But there's a glass wall in the elevator so when you go up the elevator, you can see the full wall," said deGot.

deGot also incorporated light into a small waterfall, but you can't even see that it's actually a light fixture without close inspection.

"Painting is the frosting on a cake. It takes the people to make the cake. We all have to appreciate the cake makers in the world so us frosters can be up on the walls," said deGot.

deGot has painted murals all across the country, so if you're a Driggs resident or art enthusiast, you will definitely want to stop by the new Courthouse.
