Rexburg - We've received some shocking photos of a matted dog in St. Anthony.

Check this out... You can't even tell that this is a dog because it's so matted.

A full 9 pounds of hair were shaved off the shitzu.

Police Chief Jim Smith tells Eyewitness News that he met with adult protective services in conjunction with the dog's owners at noon today.

Deb Coleman with the Upper Valley Humane Society tells Eyewitness News that in 30 years of animal rescue, she has never seen a case of matting worse than this.
