Goodbye summer, hello travel deals!
"It's always a good time to go somewhere. But yes, right now is a perfect time to go because there are deals out there. But once you see them, you can't be thinking about it. You've got to nab them up right now because they're not going to last," says Melody Gyorfy.

Wearing white after Labor Day may not be in, but shoulder season definitely is. At least for vacationers.

"Right now between September to November. It's in the middle of busy time. Where kids are going back to school. There is more travel deals this time of year," she adds.

A travel agent for more than 20 years knows exactly where to get those deals.

"Cruising. Cruising is the best deal. You're going to get your place to stay. You take your luggage and you unpack one time, you get your entertainment your food," says Gyorfy.

There are just some things you should never pay full price for. Especially when you can find deals at half the price and you're just a click away to your next travel destination.

"You can go to Puerto Vallarta from Salt Lake for three to four days for only $400 dollars," she finds.

But be careful when clicking around.

"It's like anything. They're are a lot of scam artists out there. A lot of people will book something and it might not be real and take there money," she adds.

If you're doing travel deals via phone or internet make sure you are dealing with a credible source. Keep all of your documents, and make sure to have contact names and numbers and confirmations.

Wind Farms

The wind turbines lining the foothills east of Idaho Falls are getting a lot of attention. What do you think about the wind farms?

  • They're too close to residential areas and they're lowering property values. They're ruining the view. Build them somewhere else!
  • They provide clean energy, and they generate local jobs and tax revenue. They're the wave of the future. Welcome to town!
  • Not sure.
