Business demographics in Rexburg
REXBURG - College towns like Rexburg are a unique opportunity for businesses.

But it's frequently difficult to cater to both college students and families.

One business that feels like they have a handle on it is the Cocoa Bean Cupcake Shop.

"We're able to sell to college students, they might come in and buy 1 or 6 cupcakes for themselves or roommates. A family will come in and purchase 24 cupcakes or hundreds for a wedding. That's how we're able to make it even between families and college students," said Gloria Muglesten, the Cocoa Bean Cupcake Shop Owner.

There isn't a single off-campus business in Rexburg that only caters to College Students.

Cocoa Bean is doing so well in Rexburg, they're opening a second shop in Provo, Utah.

Muglesten also feels like that her shop is becoming a destination spot for Rexburg. (People come into Rexburg just to get her cupcakes.)

Wind Farms

The wind turbines lining the foothills east of Idaho Falls are getting a lot of attention. What do you think about the wind farms?

  • They're too close to residential areas and they're lowering property values. They're ruining the view. Build them somewhere else!
  • They provide clean energy, and they generate local jobs and tax revenue. They're the wave of the future. Welcome to town!
  • Not sure.
