FRANKLIN COUNTY - A small plane goes down in Southeastern Idaho, killing two people.

The Piper crashed at the top of Green Canyon on the Franklin side of the Bear Lake County line. A group of four-wheeler riders stumbled upon the burning wreckage and reported the crash around 12:30 Friday afternoon.

Crews from both Franklin and Bear Lake County responded.

The plane is registered to an owner in California. The Federal Aviation Administration says there is no indication the pilot filed a flight plan. Investigators are still trying to determine the plane's origin and destination along with the identities of the victims.

This week Gov. Otter signed a bill requiring Idaho to sue the federal government if Congress passes health care reform. What's your response to this?

  • It's great to see Idaho taking the lead on this. Someone has to stand up to what's happening in Washington.
  • We can't afford to pay for education in Idaho, but we're going to spend tax dollars to sue the feds? Ridiculous.
  • Not sure.
