Volunteer sod layers take over Eagle Rock Jr. High field

IDAHO FALLS - There was a real community effort at Eagle Rock Junior High School Friday night. Parents and about 30 employees from the Qwest call center in Idaho Falls spent the evening putting down new grass for the school's football field.

The problem is that all the lines on the field were so old that the kids were actually tripping on the ruts. So all these people volunteered their time, to cut up the old grass and lay down sod strips.

The field has been really neglected for years, but now the kids will have a first-class facility thanks to some very tired volunteers.
