Bannock County man who left dogs in Inkom home headed to jail
POCATELLO - The Bannock County man who pleaded guilty to six counts of leaving animals without care is headed to jail.

Robert Ives is sentenced to 180 days in jail, 5-years of probation, and a $1,200 fine.

Judge Gaylen Box suspended 150 days of the jail sentence meaning Ives will only be behind bars for 30 days.

He must also get rid of the six dogs he owns while on probation. In court Robert Ives said, "I just did what I thought was the right thing, the best thing. And like I said, the dogs were never abandoned."

Ives also told the court he would visit the house about once a week to feed and water the dogs.
