New power lines proposed near Downey
POCATELLO - Idaho Power representatives were in Pocatello answering questions about the Gateway West Tranmission Lines Project today.

The project would add 1150 miles of tranmission lines from Eastern Wyoming to Boise.

There would also be several new substations built, including one near Downey. Lynette Berriochoa, Idaho Power Spokesperson said, "It's similar to adding a freeway to an overburdened transportation corridor. It's just opening a new path for moving more power in and out of our service area."

Many of the people at today's meeting were trying to find out if this project would put power lines through their property.

Eating healthier

  • Yes. I've made big changes in my diet. More fruits and veggies and less fried foods. I feel much better as a result.
  • Sort of. I made changes in my diet for awhile, but it never seemed to do much good. I've gone back to the way I used to eat.
  • I haven't made any changes, but I've always eaten a very healthy diet.
  • No. I eat what I want to eat and I don't worry about it.
