AMMON - It's only been open for seven months, but folks who wish to donate plasma at BioLife in Ammon are now put on a waiting list.

Over 1,900 people donate plasma every week and some have to wait three weeks just to get in. Donors are taking advantage of the extra $200 a month, during these tough economic times.

"Gas is one. Just paying their bills is another. The holidays are a big one right now. Everyone wants to make a little extra cash for that. It's just a good way to supplement their income," says Cody Smith of BioLife.

BioLife officials hope to reduce the waiting time in the near future. They've just hired new employees and extended their hours, to accommodate the 75 new donors they get every week.

The center is located at Hitt and 25th in Ammon.
