Bomb threat evacuates Clair E. Gale Junior High

IDAHO FALLS - A bomb threat evacuates an Idaho Falls Junior High School.
A recorded message was left at Clair E. Gale Junior High that a bomb was in the building. Students were immediately evacuated and sent across the street to Dora Erickson Elementary. Police and a K9 Unit searched the building for any time of explosive. Parents heard about the bomb threat through text messages, and some decided to pick up their kids. "All I needed to do is tell them name, what grade he was in, then show ID, then I signed him out. It went real easy," says Shauna Kump, who picked up her son. During the entire ordeal, officials from District 91 say most students and parents remained calm. "We appreciate parents cooperating and helping us keep everything as normal as possible for their students. I know it's hard," says Rene Miller, District 91 Communication Specialist. Idaho Falls Police gave the all clear at about 12:30 Tuesday afternoon, students then walked back across the street and into school, just in time for lunch. |
