Chubbuck Approves Sewer Connection Fees

CHUBBUCK - The sewer connection fees are going to be charged to each building permit issued for construction outside of Chubbuck City Limits but within the area of Chubbuck city impact.

In an effort to provide ground water quality and provide city growth, the city is looking to construct a northern sewer line which would include lines and a lift station on Rio Vista Road.

In order to construct the sewer the city had to apply for a 9.8 million dollar loan. The money from the sewer connection fees would help pay back the loan but some residents aren't convinced that would work.

"If the loan goes through aand nothing has developed who is going to pay the bill, its going to be the tax payers of the city of chubbuck its not going to be Bannock County, it's not going to be Pocatello, it's going to be Chubbuck.

The city is still in its beginning stages of building the sewer and it could be several months before the sewer connection fees are asessed.
