Gas In Idaho Under $3.00 A Gallon
By Eyewitness News
IDAHO - Good news and bad news when it comes to gas prices in Idaho. The good news? Gas prices in Idaho are now below $3 a gallon.
The bad news? It's a long drive to the panhandle to take advantage of those prices if you're traveling from Eastern Idaho. According to www.IdahoGasprices.com, gasoline in the Lewiston and Coeur d'Alene areas has dipped below $3. At some stations, regular unleaded is selling for a cool $2.89 a gallon. Across the nation, gas prices too are starting to dip below the $3 mark. Idaho has some of the highest prices for gas in the country with the average at $3.58. Dave Carlson, spokesman with Idaho AAA, says Idaho usually reacts slower than other states to changes in the oil market. He says getting $3 gas is possible, it's just difficult to predict when. "The rate of the drop may be slower in southern Idaho, but the markets strongly suggest we should be seeing sharply lower prices in the next several weeks," Carlson says. While Idaho is holding steady with its prices, other states are well below $3 a gallon. Gas prices in Missouri, for example, are as low as $2.76. |
