BINGHAM COUNTY - "What's interesting about this case is it all started with a traffic stop that led to what you see here," says Bingham County Sheriff Dave Johnson.

That traffic stop started like this, a deputy sees an unattended car parked on the side of I-15 near mile post 96. Upon approaching the car, a man appears from underneath the overpass. He says he ran out of gas but the deputy is suspicious.

"The answers, the fidgeting, through the investigation it did not match up," says Bingham County Deputy Neal Snyder.

So Deputy Neal Snyder checks under the overpass and this is what he finds: $17,000 worth of crystal meth, almost $10,000 in cash, thousands of dollars in diamonds and hundreds of dollars in other drugs.

"This is good police work as far as an officer being inquisitive, being there to help first but when story didn't match up, it lead to good investigative work to end up with what we have here," says Johnson.

Tony Weydahl is under arrest for drug trafficking and several charges of possession of various drugs. The Idaho falls man was already on probation for prior trafficking of drugs out of Bonneville County. There are no clues as to where he planned to sell the confiscated items.

"It's good investigative work. To get this off our streets and get it out of our community. Get these drugs out of our community," says Johnson.
