RIRIE - Voters in the Ririe School district are heading to polls Thursday to approve or reject a 7.2 million dollar bond.

The money will be used to add 5 classrooms, a weight room, and a gymnasium onto the middle school.

If approved, voters will only end up paying about 60 percent of the bond amount.

"We're part of the state equalization bonding program that they have and they will reimburse the district about 40 percent of that bond with this equalization program," said Ririe Superintendent Ron Perrenoud.

Eventually the district plans to transform the middle school into the high school and the high school into the middle school.

Voting goes until 9 Thursday. We'll let you know what voters decide on Eyewitness News at 10.

This week Gov. Otter signed a bill requiring Idaho to sue the federal government if Congress passes health care reform. What's your response to this?

  • It's great to see Idaho taking the lead on this. Someone has to stand up to what's happening in Washington.
  • We can't afford to pay for education in Idaho, but we're going to spend tax dollars to sue the feds? Ridiculous.
  • Not sure.
