IF Fourth of July Parade
By Jennifer McGraw
There couldn't be a better fourth of July without a parade. From traditional to the unusual, the Idaho Falls parade had it all.
"Happy Fourth of July." High schools from all around cheered with pride and rang in with loud support. Then on to the floats. The crafty paper mashie to the zoo animals and one of my favorites with our very own Todd and Mary. There were even bmx bikers doing flips, go carts racing by, and dancers strutting their stuff down boulevard. Even I managed to have a great time. But There is nothing quite like a parade without floats dedicated to our service men and women. The fourth of July marks the day of freedom and independence. For many Idahoans today was a special reminder of the many sacrifices our service men and women have given up. The Nielson's :"I lost a son in 2003.I think it's important to recognize our service men and women." Some say it's not all about floats and fireworks. Ty Bellnap: "Flags patriotism. It's the reason we can live with the lifestyle we have today." The parade was an enjoyable event for the whole family. |
