4th of July South Valley Style
By Hasti Taghi
"The biggest show in Idaho as we call it and it might even be the biggest show in the west." Phil Meador, Sponsor
It's a happy sweet 16 for the fireworks show dubbed "the biggest show in Idaho"... That's right for the 16th consecutive year, Phil Meador Toyota along with a list of other co- sponsors are doing it big for the grand day... In fact Meador alone is spending 85-thousand for this year's show. "we want to celebrate veterans of foreign wars and veterans of all wars really." Meador Despite rising fuel prices and worries of a less-celebrated 4th of July, the organizers are hopeful their show will retain it's audience. "it's a great day for our country and it feels patriotic to do the fireworks." Sam Stout, Fireworks Technician But if the fuel prices ARE on your mind and you live outside of the city...no worries...the rest of the southern towns know how to party as well. From hamburgers in the park to rodeos and of course the traditional fireworks displays...the south-valley is the place to be. Many towns will start the day off with parades and community breakfasts. Others will burn holiday calories with fun-runs for the family. And most will end the night with a grand finale of fireworks.
