How Prepared is South East Idaho for an Emergency?

Radio-active contamination has taken place in Fort Hall... no need to call 911... it's just a disaster drill scenario.

The contamination was taken care of first in Fort Hall and then those who were exposed to the radioactive material were transported by ambulance to Bingham Memorial Hospital. "at first everyone was a little anxious because you never know what to expect." - Angie Mclean, ER Tech Dressed from head to toe in protective gear... nurses checked the patients for contamination. The treatment area was blocked off with emergency tape and there were great efforts taken to prevent spreading the contamination. "we had everything we needed and we all worked together...it went pretty well." - Mclean How prepared is South-East Idaho for such a disaster? "I think we are definitely prepared... We will learn many things but that's why it's important to have these scenarios." |
