Chubbuck Woman Killed in Car Accident

A Chubbuck woman is dead following a car accident on I-86 yesterday.
Officers say California man, Thomas Banks, was traveling at a high rate of speed when his vehicle drifted into the right lane hitting another car near the Power and Cassia county line. That caused the car to go off the side of the road, and roll several times. Janet Burton, of Chubbuck, was ejected from the vehicle and died on the scene. Driver Robert Hughes, also of Chubbuck, was taken to the hospital where he was treated and released. Police are investigating if alcohol played a factor in this accident. Banks has been arrested and charged with felony vehicular manslaughter. |
