Burglary Ring Broken Up In Bingham County
By Hasti TaghiA car burglary ring has been broken up this week and thousands of dollars worth of stolen items recovered. A tip was given to a Bingham County school resource officer who then passed it on to investigators. Parents also helped when they reported items that they did not feel belonged to their teens. I-pods...Stereo's... Radar detectors and GPS systems are just a few of the stolen items that amount to thousands of dollars stolen. All of these items were taken from unlocked vehicles of unsuspecting victims. "It started with just a radar detector and now it's a lot of other stuff." 5 Juveniles and one eighteen year old are being investigated in this situation. Their identities have not been revealed and no charges have been filed as of yet. Preliminary charges are expected to be filed next week. The burglaries are believed to have taken place as far north as Idaho Falls and as far south as Pocatello. "A number of cases have of info" Up to 20 cases of car burglaries have been linked to the investigation so far and there are still more that may come out through the upcoming days. "With the amount of equipment we have found...At least some of it would obviously be to sell." The thousands of dollars that are in authorities' hands now are not going to be handed out to just anyone-if you believe you were a victim of one of these burglaries you must identify your item with a receipt or description...
