N. Idaho woman wants home poker games made legal

COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho (AP) _ Wendy Nutting is moving all in to try and get the state to allow home poker games.

The northern Idaho woman has been named Idaho state director for the national Poker Players Alliance.

She's betting that a lot of fellow residents agree with her that the state is wrong to ban cash games in private residences.

Interest in poker, particularly Texas Hold 'em, has exploded in the United States in the past few years.

Kootenai County Chief Deputy Prosecutor Marty Raap says he can't think of a case where a friendly home game was prosecuted.

Nutting says she's not sure where to start. Raap says lawmakers should consider cleaning out antiquated laws.
