Joy Rider Steals Fort Hall Ambulance While the Engine is Running

By Jeff Robinson

A joy-rider stole a Fort Hall ambulance while the engine was still running, then crashed it into a power pole in Pocatello.

This morning, firefighters parked the ambulance outside the Fort Hall rec center while they were working out.

A spokesman said they left the engine running, but thought it was still secure.

Someone got in through the back and stole it.

It was found crashed into this power pole, but the culprit hasn't been caught.

Fort Hall only has one other ambulance operational right now.

The damaged ambulance has four wheel drive; the other one does not.

This week Gov. Otter signed a bill requiring Idaho to sue the federal government if Congress passes health care reform. What's your response to this?

  • It's great to see Idaho taking the lead on this. Someone has to stand up to what's happening in Washington.
  • We can't afford to pay for education in Idaho, but we're going to spend tax dollars to sue the feds? Ridiculous.
  • Not sure.
