Bonneville county Realtors say a lack of on line information is hurting your ability to make an educated decision, but in just a few weeks that's going to change. They'll once again have access to information on houses up for sale that they haven't had in almost four years.

When you get used to doing things a certain way, it's hard to change, and in this case, in some sense, go backwards.

Sue Shadley, Realtor: "I'm a little frustrated because we've had access in the past and it's made it easy for us."
"Now in order to do that we have to do one of two things, one is to call the county treasurers office or call for property profile from the title company."
"Sometimes they're in a crunch and can't handle it quite as well or got a lot of people calling in.."

All this adjusting has taken extra work on the county's side and made the Realtors feel some what constraint.

Shadley: "I got used to being able to come in and pull that info off the compute."
"I think it's inefficient and I think it's unhandy , a lot of our job takes place after hours ."
"Those of us who've been in the business for awhile ere used to it and liked it and wish we had it because it's not that we can't do our job we just can't do it as effectively."

In addition to that, the little that is still available on line, is outdated.

"I put in the information, pulled it up and all that is showing up is 2004."
"So the evaluation is totally inaccurate based on todays information."

All these changes are happening throughout the state.

Roger Christensen, commissioner:"The state is going to a different software program that they're supporting. We were one of the first counties to transition from old software to the new software."

But this new software doesn't have the capability the old one did, where Realtors could find what they needed.
So the county is taking it upon themselves to make that happen.

Christensen: "We've been trying to work to accommodate the private interest groups like the Realtors."
"We've gone out and had to create that solution ourselves, and it's taken some time."

This has taken a lot of time and a lot of work, but change is on it's way.

Christensen: "This web map should be more complete because able to online go in there and look at parcel, click on it and pull up all information, it should be simpler and quicker."

Bonneville County says the site will be launched in about two weeks, after they complete some last minute tests on the software program.
