IDAHO FALLS - "Usually what we do is a vehicle comes in and all the work is being done simultaneously, so customers get about an hours worth of work on their vehicle and it takes us just about 10 minutes," says Jiffy Lube manager Tyson Daniels.

Ten minutes for the usual team of five, but this job turned into an hour as Justine gave a signature service oil change to one of the news station rides.

"Wait I think a little more a little more. I think a little more! Ok that's now good," says Justine.

"Is there a different trick?" asks Justine.

"Just be strong with it," says Daniels.

Under the hood Justine checked the oil, power steering fluid, antifreeze

"I don't think we have anything in there," says Justine.

Break fluid, and even the windshield washer fluid.

"Did we have any in here it just keeps going."

And after cleaning up the mess from the birds,

"Ew. We don't want that there," says Justine.

And the KIDK employees Justine needed to bring in the air.

"This tire should have about 32 pounds in it, right now you're coming in at ten," says Daniels.

"Ooh that's not good huh."

"Not good."

It does require certification for the roles Justine took on, but can be completed on line and in no time at all.

"Depends on the employee. Most of the time they can have it done in three months for all the positions," says Daniels.

And one of the greasiest positions takes place down in the pitt.

"It's gonna squirt isn't it?"

"My heel is stuck in one of those holes!"

"Oops, was that suppose to come out?" asks Justine.

"Yeah just drop it," says Daniels.

"Oh dump it? oh here we go."

"Right now were fully staffed we've got four stores in town so we always are looking for good help, so positions always do come available," says Daniels.

"Ok now what way do I put it on? This way?" asks Justine.

"Yeah this side right here is the 13 millimeter," says Daniels.

"Oh."

And once those positions become available,

"We're gonna squeeze the trigger till it says 4 and a half quarts," says Daniels.

You may just want to stick around.

"I got four and a half exactly!"

"It's awesome it's like a family we do things on the weekend, hang out have barbecues everyone works real well together," says Daniels.

Idaho law allows state agencies to divert some state income tax refunds to pay legal obligations like court fees, child support, and sheriff's garnishments. Taxpayers whose refunds have been diverted have no legal recourse. What do you think of the law?

  • Times are tight. If the state needs the money, this approach is better than budget cuts, tax hikes, etc.
  • I'm entitled to the refund, and the state can just take it? Unfair and ridiculous.
  • Not sure.
