IDAHO FALLS - "Come on Woofy, you ready to get pretty?" asks Justine.

"She's in your hands now," says Lauren.

In her hands Justine took this recently adopted pooch to Pretty Pets for a much needed makeover.

"I've tried having other people come in and groom and they just don't have the patience," says Pretty Pets owner Jayme Abraham.

But she took on the challenge…

"This is what she's looking like now, and after we're done she's gonna be beautiful," says Justine.

And patience was certainly needed because there was lots to do, starting with a rough cut.

"Oh my goodness look at all of the fur," says Justine.

And then onto the nails.

"See how you can see the pink. You're just gonna very carefully the tips," says Abraham.

"Last one," says Justine.

And if you could smell Woofy through the camera you knew it was time for a bath, and something Justine wasn't expecting.

"And then the one unpleasant thing during the bath is you need to do the anal glands," says Abraham.

"I have to have somebody that is I mean these are peoples babies and you have to treat them as such," she says.

After some drying….

"You like this right?" asks Justine.

And fluffing, it was time to trim a cool summer style, for Justine it was a tough job even with the help of a pro, but a job Jayme does solo.

"It's not just pick up a pair of clippers and scissors and start chopping, it's some artistic ability," says Abraham.

An extra hand is welcomed at the shop, but not just any.

"If I had another groomer I would be open to that, but like I said, I just haven't you know it's something that is kind of a specialty and not everybody has the knack," she says.

A knack Justine hasn't quite gotten down yet.

"How did i do?" asks Justine.

"You did good," says Abraham.

"And you can be honest."

"You'd need a lot more training, but you know you were really good with animal and that's first and foremost."

So we got Jayme's impression and now for the most important verdict.

"Woofy! Look how pretty she looks!" says Lauren. "Justine you did awesome!"

"Does she look good?" asks Justine.

"Come here Justine, you're hired!"

This week Gov. Otter signed a bill requiring Idaho to sue the federal government if Congress passes health care reform. What's your response to this?

  • It's great to see Idaho taking the lead on this. Someone has to stand up to what's happening in Washington.
  • We can't afford to pay for education in Idaho, but we're going to spend tax dollars to sue the feds? Ridiculous.
  • Not sure.
