If you're looking for something to do the next few days. We've got just the thing. For the first time ever, Spudfest held part of it's 5th annual screenings rightt here In Idaho Falls.

Rocco Devilliers is the filmmaker who wrote produced and directed the feature film, The Flyboys that played tonight. This is a film that has local ties and from what I saw, it will keep you on the edge of your seat.

The first day in a new school. That's always tough, but that's nothing compared to what Kyle Barret and Jason McIntyre get themselves into.
"The film is basically about two 12 year old boys who are from a small town and love airplanes and they accidentally stowaway aboard an airplane owned by the mob and get caught up in this big adventure."

That adventure is sure to keep you on the edge of your seat. "Essentially I wanted to make the kind of film that I would have loved to have seen as a 12 year old. At the end of the day, I just really wanted to see this movie."

Rocco's cousin and the film's Media Liason in Idaho Adam Jardine says, "It's a film that's gonna hit every emotion." Those emotions have garnered over 45 awards for this highflying adventure.

And when you speak with Rocco you can tell it's a labor of love. "I have very fond memories of visiting my grandparents in Blackfoot, Idaho when I was a kid. My grandfather was a pilot. He was a crop duster."

IDAHO FALLS - In every scene you see the values fly off the screen that Rocco's family taught him. "Loyalty, honor, honesty, you know, not leaving your friend behind. The kinds of values that I grew up with, that my parents taught me, that I just don't see in films anymore."

The film is dedicated to his grandfather. "He was just a really good man and they just don't make men like him anymore." And tonight his grandmother was there for the screening. His grandfather passed away in the 90's. "He would be proud." -Clarice Novas
And you can tell he was there too.

If you missed it don't worry you will get another chance, The flyboys is playing in Spudfest on friday and saturday. and it will be back in Idaho Falls some time this fall.
