IDAHO FALLS - Idaho's Attorney General was in Idaho Falls Friday night for the big Lincoln Day Banquet at the Shilo Inn. The annual dinner is a political fundraiser and anyone can attend. A lot of Idaho's leaders were there, including the governor.

Most of the talk seemed centered on Idaho's portion of the president's stimulus package and the economy.

Taking action for you, we asked Attorney General Lawrence Wasden, if his office is seeing more cases of scams and fraud, given the current economic landscape.

"In every economic downturn, there is an increase in scams and fraud. In addition, there is a heavier workload that comes with that for our legal resources. So folks need to protect themselves and the best thing you can do is... if it sounds too good to be true, it is. Check it out. Check it out. Check it out. That's what you need to do," he says.

One way you can do that is the Attorney General's website. We have provided a link above, by clicking on newslinks at the top of this page.

This week Gov. Otter signed a bill requiring Idaho to sue the federal government if Congress passes health care reform. What's your response to this?

  • It's great to see Idaho taking the lead on this. Someone has to stand up to what's happening in Washington.
  • We can't afford to pay for education in Idaho, but we're going to spend tax dollars to sue the feds? Ridiculous.
  • Not sure.
