Does it Really Work? - The Perfect Brownie Pan

Last week, we were looking for a family to try out The Perfect Brownie pan. How appropriate that a family from SUGAR City volunteered.

The Perfect Brownie claims to be the non stick way to bake slice and serve your favorite treats. Let's find out if it really works.

Infomercial: "You cut, rip, and tear, but your brownies never turn out square."

"We thought this would be a really great way to easily cut them, without getting some small and some large," says Tammy Gee.

Infomercial: "Need a hand? Now there's Perfect Brownie Pan."

Betty Crocker is no where to be found as The Gee family will use a family recipe from scratch for the perfect brownie. And you know, any recipe with six eggs just has to be good. All the ingredients made it into the bowl, even though Julianne got a little excited with the vanilla.

Now to the pan...

"It's a lot tinier than I thought," says Tammy.

Everyone seem to point out that the size was such a letdown.

"I''d really like it if it was in a bigger pan."

"It's really small."

"Coat surface of completed pan 'B' and 'C' and dividers with non stick cooking spray," says Tammy, reading the directions.

Next step is to pour the batter right into the pan, the dividers go in next. To compare we'll make a separate batch with a plain ole 13 X 9 pan.

"Now time it for 22 minutes," says Tammy.

Too bad Channel 3 doesn't broadcast in Smell-A-Vision.

"They do smell good, look," says Tammy.

The brownies are done, but will they stick to the dividers.. (that was my biggest worry.) Our pan then magically becomes a serving tray. Success! No sticking whatsoever.

"Actually, those come out really nice," says Tammy.

"I like it how it cut it all by itself."

Meanwhile, back at the plain ole pan.. The cuts just weren't as pretty.

"Oh see. Those are too big," says Tammy.

And even though we heard complaints about the size of the pan, there are some positive notes as well.

"This is about the perfect size for school aged kids. The brownie is just about the right size. Not too big not too small," says Tammy.

Judging by the empty plates, I'd say our product worked. Let's get the results on the Spud-o-Meter.

"Probably a four."

"I'd give it about a four."

"I'd rate it a four-and-a-half."

"Four-and-a-half."

"Five."

"I would rate it as a five. We really liked it. I would buy it," says Tammy.

And we know kids never lie on Does it Really Work, so let's ask 7 year old Bridgett for a summary.

"You don't actually have cut it with a knife, it just cuts it for you, that's why I like it," says Bridgett.

I paid $20 for the Perfect Brownie Pan over at Walgreens.
