Does it Really Work? - Turbo Fill Blasters
By Tommy Noel
"Mom!! I'm bored!!!" I'm sure you heard that around the house as the summer weeks wind down.
We may have a solution to the boredom. Tommy Noel tries out a cool new water gun in this edition of "Does it Really Work?" Not wasting one second of time, our kid testers ripped into the Fisher Price Turbo Fill Blaster. Our box comes with one blaster and one base. Assembly was easy. Just hook a hose to the base and you're ready for one big water fight. It took us a couple tries before we got the hang of it. But soon after, they became pros. All the kids gave it a try, including big kid Dad. "I could use this to keep them away from me," says Brett Ferguson. We soon noticed that the four-year-old seemed to like it the most. We wanted to check a claim on the box. It says the Turbo Fill Blaster can shoot up to 30 feet, so using a tape measure, we did a little experiment, with success. Our target definitely got a little wet even from 30 feet away. It was now my turn to play, so using a scary water gun, I took on the kids, and quickly lost. Soaking wet, I still had to do my job as a reporter and get the kids opinions on the blaster. "It was pretty awesome!" "It shoots far!" "I think the kids enjoyed it," says Brett. "You don't have to get the hose." But the Blaster did have its drawbacks. "You had to keep refilling it." "Gun runs out fairly fast. That's the only draw back i see." Whenever I test out a toy for Does it Really Work, kids automatically give it a "5" on the Spud-o-Meter. Will the same hold true for the Turbo Fill Blaster? "Five!" "Five!" "Five!" The perfect score for toys streak continues. Now from a parent's standpoint... "I'd probably give it a four," says Brett. But if you want your money's worth, stick with the younger kids for this one. "You saw my four-year-old using it. It seems pretty easy filling it up himself. Wasn't really relying on a parent," says Brett. We paid $35 at Toys R Us for this product. You can also buy single guns for each kid. |
