For this week's segment, our own Meteorologist Mandy Ward approached Tommy Noel with the Loud 'N Clear.

It's supposed to amplify sounds, while you look cool as you wear it. Mandy was curious if it will help while watching TV.

"I've been telling you for awhile that I wanted to use this. I see it on TV all the time," says Mandy Ward.

So Mandy took a break from forecasting the weather to try out the Loud 'N Clear. Seems like her dog Rocky is more excited.

"This isn't a treat for you," says Mandy to Rocky.

Mandy came up with three specific tests she wanted to try out.

1st test.

Infomercial: So powerful, you can hear a pin drop from across the room.

"And I'm like, is that true," asks Mandy.

Well Mandy, let's find out. She's in the living room, I'm in the dining room, and I drop a pin.

"No, I didn't hear anything," says Mandy.

Even with Mandy sitting at the same table with me...

"It sounds just the same as we did it without this on," says Mandy.

"Test number one, not so good," says Mandy.

Test number 2.

Infomercial: Perfect for listening to TV without disturbing others.

"Since I work nights, like I'm usually up later than my husband, so I was like, that could work for us," says Mandy.

At a faint volume level...

"I can't hear anything," says Mandy.

Bumping up the volume a bit helped.

"It is a tiny bit louder. However, there's all this other background noise." says Mandy.

Mandy was picking up sound from the dishwasher, her dog, and traffic noise.

"In the bedroom, we always have a fan on, so we'd picking up that noise. Hm.. I'm a little disappointed." says Mandy.

Third times a charm?

Infomercial: Ever wonder what people are saying when you can't hear them? You can discretely listen in.

"And there was this party going on and this guy's listening, and these girls are saying he's so cute," says Mandy.

Mandy's back in the living room, I'm in the dining room, will she hear my secret message?

"Hi Mandy. I think you give the best weather forecast in Eastern Idaho. Your forecasts are just so accurate," says Tommy.

"Yeah. I heard that. At least one test worked," says Mandy.

But we have to give it a split vote due to the fact that Mandy and I don't really make a typical party scenario.

"There would be more people around, there would be all the voices I'd pick up," says Mandy.

By the looks of it, Mandy is ready to can this product.

"I'm glad you let me try it, because it doesn't work at all," says Mandy.

Mandy's Spud-o-Meter rating is pretty obvious.

"I think a one. If I bought it, I would definitely take it back," says Mandy.
