Does it Really Work? - Pancake Puff
By Tommy Noel
Nothing beats a delicious home cooked breakfast on Saturday.
So let's put a spin on breakfast with the Pancake Puff Pan. Does it Really Work? Or will we have some burnt pancakes for the garbage can. "I like to do brunches on the weekends. That's my big specialty," says Diane Carver. She agreed to try out the Pancake Puff Pan, hoping to spice up those weekend brunches. The box includes an injector, sugar shaker and lots of flipping sticks. The size of the pan though was a surprise... "Oh it's much smaller than I thought," says Diane. Following the directions, we whipped up a batch of pancake batter. We warmed up the pan, added cooking spray, and I could sense breakfast was just minutes away... Or longer. "Took longer to cook than I thought," says Diane. We checked a few times with the included flipping sticks, but they just weren't quite ready. Finally, though... "Oh! Kinda yes! There we go! That worked," says Diane. Couple more minutes on the other side, and we were good to go. "It's actually easier to flip than I thought it would be," says Diane. Compared to the infomercial, our first batch looked pretty good. But how will they taste? "Tastes fine," says Diane. Let me just add they were nice and fluffy, and extra good with chocolate sprinkles. Let's turn now to the Spud-O-Meter... "Between 3 and a half and a 4," says Diane. Diane would use the product with her grand kids, but the puffs might not be big enough for us adults. "I'd have to make several batches and the first batch would be cold before the final batch would be done," says Diane. You can get the Pancake Puff Pan at Walgreens for $20. |
