Does it Really Work? - SmartShopper

If you've ever made a list, you've probably done so with a pencil and a pad of paper.

But today's product goes a step beyond that.

Will the SmartShopper replace your note pad?

Dana Brown wouldn't step foot in a grocery store without her shopping list.

"On our fridge, we have a list that grows every day," says Dana Brown.

So Dana's the perfect candidate for the Smart Shopper.

"Looks interesting. I'm willing to give it a shot," says Dana.

The product claims to keep track of your shopping lists, just by speaking into the device.

Before Dana gives the SmartShopper her list, she and her daughter Sydney look over the list of items already stored in the product.

There are 2,500 pre-loaded items, so I let them be and I chatted with 5-year-old Gibson.

"How many girlfriends do you have," asks Tommy Noel.

"Four," replies Gibson.

Ok.. Let's try this thing out.

"Whole milk... Cool!" says Dana.

First product worked with no problems.

"Apples. Yea we got it!" says Dana.

"Strawberry Ice Cream. Yea!" says Dana.

So far so good, but when we let Gibson try it out,

"Bananas," says Gibson.

"Curling Iron?" asks Dana.

And no such luck with Dana's daughter either.

"Goldfish.. Moth balls," says Sydney.

"As long as I'm speaking, and not my children. It didn't really recognize their voice," says Dana.

But when Dana used it, the device recognized most of her requests. It even keeps track of errands before or after the grocery store trip.

"Post Office.. Oh Cool!" says Dana.

When you're ready, hit the print button, and it's off to the store.

"Having it sort the way it does is really handy," says Dana.

To the Spud-o-Meter we go!

"I give it a 3. Only I can use it. So that's kinda a drawback, because if my daughter knows that she needs a specific item, it may not recognize her voice," says Dana.

You can train the smart shopper to learn your voice, but this only works for one person.

You can order it at www.smartshopperusa.com. You can also get it on Amazon.com.
