In this edition of "Does it Really Work?," Reporter Tommy Noel presents the very first "Product War!!"

Back in May, a lot of you asked me to try out "OpenX."

But now, the manufacturer of "Open It!" thinks it can do a lot better.

Will it open up those difficult clam shell packages just as well?

Julie Harris comes to our noon show with creative ideas from Roberts Crafts.

With tons of flowers and other items to display, we thought Julie would be the perfect tester for the Open It!

"We open stuff here all the time. We open product that comes in. We have some that are easier to open than others," says Julie Harris.

The crew at Roberts usually use Exacto knives to open shipments.

"Sometimes those can be a hazard," says Julie.

So will those knives be replaced with lots of Open Its!?

Overall first impressions...

"It feels a little bulky," says Julie.

We gave Julie several clam shell packages to open and once she got the hang of it...

"That wasn't too bad... Ok, now that worked pretty good," says Julie.

Even an intimidating cell phone charger package opened with ease.

"After I got the feel of it, I liked it," says Julie.

We now let Julie try to open some store merchandise.

"So we're gonna do the straps, OK... Oh! That was really nice," says Julie.

But Julie found something that didn't work her to her liking.

"As far as sliding and opening [a taped box] I didn't care for it," says Julie.

Apart from that, Julie was most impressed with those difficult zip ties.

"That worked really well. I know our receiving managers would like this," says Julie.

After opening various packages, boxes and ties, we turn now to our Spud-O-Meter.

"I would give it a four. The bulkiness is what I don't care for," says Julie.

So the two package opening products each get a '4' on the Spud-O-Meter.

You pick up the Open It! for about $10 at Walgreen's or Target.
