Does it Really Work? - Micro Grill

Last week, Eyewitness News reporter Tommy Noel tried the 'Grill Daddy Pro' in 'Does it Really Work?'

He decided to keep the grill theme by trying out a product that claims to grill your food.. in the microwave!

Micro Grill Infomercial: The first every kitchen product that transforms your microwave to a turbo-charged grilling machine.

Complete meals in 7 minutes. That's the claim from the Micro Grill.

The recipe book includes lots of ideas. First thing we'll try out will be cinnamon rolls.

"It seems like when you make bread in the microwave, it comes out mushy and gross," says Tommy Noel.

You have to preheat the grill for about 2 minutes in the microwave.

"Anything that involves the oven especially when it's hot outside, I don't want to turn the oven on," says Sarah Schwabe.

About three minutes later, they were ready.

"They are burnt a little bit," says Tommy.

Next up a grilled cheese sandwich.

"Wow. Well that looks perfect," says Sarah.

Just make sure you let the food cool off before eating it!

The grilled cheese sandwich was pretty good.

From breads to meats. It's time for a steak.

This took about 5 minutes in the microwave.

"It smells really good," says Tommy.

But will it taste any good?

"It's a little chewy and tough," says Sarah.

Will we have more luck with the chicken?

We followed the timing directions, but didn't have the best results.

"Uh oh. Still some pink. Not cooked," says Sarah.

So we added a few more seconds.

"It doesn't have that juicy grilled taste," says Sarah.

So the Micro Grill is good with the breads but not so much the meats. Sarah agrees.

"I was impressed by the grilled cheese. I'm not impressed with the meat. I'll stick with my regular outdoor grill," says Sarah.

We turn now to the spud o meter..

"3 1/2 spuds," says Tommy.

"I'm gonna go with 3 spuds," says Sarah.

We picked up the Micro Grill for $33 at Linens and Things.
